The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced that they’re visiting Dubbo Wednesday 17th October as part of their Australian tour.
Their official trip will focus on youth leadership, and environmental and conservation efforts and the recovery and rehabilitation of servicemen and women through the Invictus Games. It will be their first official royal tour as husband and wife.
After visiting Australia, Prince Harry and Meghan will visit Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
This isn’t the first time Dubbo hosts Royals – Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwell visited in 2016 and Queen Elizabeth II toured the regional centre in 1954 and again in 1992. Prince Edward also visited Dubbo in 2006.
Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Ben Shields told nine.com.au it is obvious why Prince Harry and former Suits star Meghan Markle would want to visit the city.

“It’s the centre of NSW, I call it the centre of the universe,” he laughed.
“There’s great things happening in Dubbo. We have the Taronga Western Plains Zoo which has scored so many goals when it comes to the conservation effort and we know Harry and Meghan are keen on conservation especially when it comes to endangered species. It probably played a strong part in getting us across the line,” he said.
